　　The pursuit of wealth has a long history, and its origin can date back to the era of bartering when people exchanged for one another's goods. Ever since then, people began to accumulate wealth. So instead of judging it scornfully, I would rather defend for it because the behavior of chasing after money or wealth is driven by our human nature. Undoubtedly. I agree with the claim that wealth is the sign of success.

　　Wealth can motivate people to work diligently and strive for a better future. As a result, we can't deny the efforts of those who earn their wages with dignity. Therefore, we have to award their dedication and diligence. This kind of acknowledgement gives money chasers a sense of identity and by which we form the consensus of one being successful.

　　What's more important is that nowadays society the mob is so suspicious and firmly believes in the old saying: Seeing is believing. Yes, they do recognize all kinds of talents but the superficial and direct way to prove your ingenuity is the saving in your bank account. No matter how aggrieved you are, you have to accept the common criteria of success and fit yourself in. Otherwise, your efforts won't be considered as valuable.

　　As suggested above, wealth is the sign of success. Even though there are lots of other standards of being successful, wealth is the most significant indication of one's success.

　　In the materialistic world today, many people consider wealth as the criteria for success. They hold the view that whether one is successful or not depends on how much wealth he has. However, wealth is by no means a sign of success. One shouldn't equate wealth with success.

　　First and foremost, a person is perceived to be successful not necessarily by how much wealth he possesses, but the good qualities that can lead to success. The qualities include knowledge, honor, creativity and so on. A simple example can be drawn from Confucious, who is considered the most outstanding ideologist in ancient China. His great thoughts had a huge influence on many people for thousands of years and even contributed to our harmonious society today. There is no doubt that Confucious is regarded as a successful person.

　　From another perspective, wealthy people are not always successful. A case in point is the NEET group. They take over their family business from their parents. Their wealth is not gained by their own knowledge and creative mind. In this sense, they can be called wealthy people but never successful people.

　　Taking all these mentioned above into consideration, we can draw the conclusion that wealth is nothing to do with success. The real success lies in the brilliant achievements one can attain, or rather, making great contributions to the development of the country or even the human world.

　　3.Wealth is the Sign of Success

　　Our society worships success, thus leading to a discussion of the standard of being successful. Is it beauty, wisdom, enterprise, or. .. wealth?

　　From my point of view, I think wealth is the sign of success.

　　Firstly, if one wants to gather as much money as he could, he must be diligent. You have to sell your products by persuading your clients, or donate your talent to the editor, or create social values through your special skills. .. None of these can be achieved without hard work.

　　And also, the intelligence can not be left out in the way of becoming rich. All people in the world desire money, yet it's impossible for everyone to be wealthy. Wealth prefers intelligent people. They have all ways to gather money up. They're familiar with the principles of economy and how money circulates.

　　Finally, wealthy people normally have a higher level of education. Many wealthy young men were born in a rich family which provides them with better education. Good education is always linked with the symbol of success. And one can never get closed to success with poor education. When they become richer, they'll charge themselves with more advanced knowledge to keep up with the pace of today's society to maintain success.

　　Therefore, I believe wealth is the sign of success. When you're wrapped in fine clothes with elegant smile on your face, I think most people will define you as a successful person.

　　4.wealth is not the sign of success

　　When one is asked "what makes for success? ", the answers are varied. It is undeniable that, in today's society, those who have the ability to earn a great deal of money are often regarded as the successful person. However, wealth may be one of the ways to success, the real success is far more than wealth.

　　There exist many things whose deeper meanings are beyond money, such as perseverance, virtuousness, wisdom and so on. The examples go on and on. Lincoln, who was born poor, beat his rich opponent in the election on account of his perseverance. Mozart is successful for his ear for music and Marx for his eminent ideology. From another perspective, Bill Gates, who used to be the richest man in the world, admitted that he didn't think himself successful for he obtained nothing from his action but a satisfied of life.

　　As defined in Webster's dictionary, success is a favorable or desirable outcome. Everybody longs for success, but success cannot be achieved by those who only talk about it. It's hard to avoid failure in the way of pursuing success, only by sticking to our original intention can we achieve our own success.

　　As far as I'm concerned, the sign of success is not the ultimate result which you struggle for, but take pride in what you have done. You obtain experience from repeated failure and gradually take in persevere, ----that is what we called successful.
